1st Degree Black Belt, Meghan McGrath

I originally started Kempo because I was a bit of an extra-cirricular junkie.  After watching my younger brother in the kids classes I saw that Kempo was fun and challenging.  Shortly after it definitely proved to be both those things but also ... so much more.

When I started Kempo, every one was so nice and encouraging and because of that, I immediately felt welcomed.  I quickly realized that Kempo was more than just a class to attend a couple times a week; it's an enticing mixture of dynamic workouts with amazing people.  Each class not only focused on gaining physical strength, but also on building mental strength and spiritual clarity.  Over time, my other activities faded in comparison to Kempo. They just didn't offer the same things and quite frankly, at some point I realized that those extra-cirricular activities weren't worth my time any more.

Kempo has changed my life in so many positive ways.  It has become a part of me. I feel that because I joined as a teen, it really helped to shape me into who I am today.  For this I will be forever grateful.

For this I thank my Kempo family and of course Professor Stiles. She has been and continues to be one of the most amazing women I have in my life.  I am forever grateful to be one of her students and to have been someone she has taken the time to teach.  Her positive words have guided and shaped me into who I am today.  Her dedication to the things she loves is such an inspiration.  Professor Stiles is a constant positive in my life and I know that I can always count on her for words of advice, fun times and a killer work out!
